During a trip to Mono Lake, CA

and I got together at 5am to snap some sunrise shots of Mono Lake at a place called "South Tufa Beach".
The lake is approx. 1 million years old and those towers of rock are called 'Tufa' and are made of Limestone.
No fish live in this lake because of how caustic the water is, but there is one life form that thrives there besides the bacteria.
Trillions of Brine Shrimp which feed millions of migrating birds.
there is a very unique eco system at work here.
